Ahhh…the anticipation of things to come. I love this time of year as the days begin to warm and lengthen and I dream of what is to come in my vegetable garden. The idea of beginning anew and improving upon last year’s harvest brings such excitement each year. Similarly, I hope this Easter renews your spirit and gives you hope for the future. May you enjoy celebrating our risen Lord with loved ones and family.
A big thank you to Michelle Collins and Susan Palma for an incredible sold-out day of bingo and bubbly at Howell and Dragon last month. A great time was had by all with Michelle and Susan calling the numbers for all the fabulous bingo prizes and baskets. We also thank those members who tirelessly gave of their time to help set up, work, and take down for the event. We appreciate all 250 attendees, and those who couldn’t attend, for their generosity in underwriting and purchasing raffle tickets and bingo cards. It was a great success!
Betty Hovas and Dianna Unis have an insightful program planned on April 2 at 10:00 a.m. in the parish center. CEO, Dr. Laura DeFina, MD, FACP, FAHA, from the Cooper Center will speak on healthy aging based on the institute’s longitudinal study. Dr. DeFina has authored more than 100 manuscripts on a variety of prevention topics, including healthy aging, brain health, and cardiorespiratory fitness. She is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and the American Heart Association. I look forward hearing from such a renowned expert!
